Hello. Today we will see how to create automaticc GL Codes in Strategic ERP

Step 1: Create a parent account group for which you have to create a ledger and assign a code to it. 

For example, we have created an account group named "Current Assets" and have given it a code "01"

Step 2 : Create a child group under which you will be creating the ledger.

For example, we have created "Bank Accounts" under "Current Assets" and given it code of 001

As you can see, the system has automatically picked 01 from parent group and has given the code 01001 to the child group.

Step 3: Create the ledger for which you have to auto generate the code

For example, we have created "GL Code Testing Bank".

As you can see, system has automatically given it the code "01001013" by fetching "01001" from its parent group and "013" because it is the 13th ledger in that particular group of Bank accounts.

In this manner, you can simply put group codes and the system will auto create codes for all the ledgers by taking into account the group codes, irresepctive of how many levels it has been entered.
