Less Secure App alternative to configure Gmail with StrategicERP
Google has changed their Less Secured App policies, which were discontinued from 30th May 2022. Owing to this change, we are facing issues in sending emails from StrategicERP or any third party apps. Here, we provide you with an alternative to configure Gmail and send emails from StartegicERP.
An alternate solution aa
- Turn on 2-Step Verification
- Use an App Password
The app password approach is probably the easiest, but it'll require you to set up two-factor authentication.
Turn on 2-Step Verification
With 2-Step Verification, also called two-factor authentication, you can add an extra layer of security to your account in case your password is stolen. After you set up 2-Step Verification, you can sign in to your account with:
- Your password
- Your phone
Enable 2-Step Verification and App passwords
- Open your Google Account.
- In the navigation panel, select "Security".
- Under "Signing in to Google," select 2-Step Verification and then Get started.
- Allow 2-steps Verification through using your Gmail Password.
- Once 2-steps verification is completed you will see the following image.
- After allowing 2-steps Verification you will see an option App Password Under "Signing in to Google".
- In App Passwords, you can select which apps you want to give Permission to use third party apps and from which device.
- Here, we are allowing it for Gmail so we have selected Gmail from the App drop-down list and we are allowing Windows device so we have selected Windows Computer.
- Now click on Generate and the 16 digit key will be generated, which can be used as a password in Generate Setting and SMS/Email templates of StrategicERP.
